Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix was an athletically inclined child and developed a passion to sprint in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first race, Felix finished 2nd in the 200-meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three of her races.
