Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early aptitude to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic talent at that time. After just 10 weeks of her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200 meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to a professional career with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set a Junior World Record by taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three throughout her races in the Olympics which took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
